Ch-ch-ch-ch-check it out!

The reason there haven't been any posts recently? They are all on poptartsfororphans.blogspot.com ! Don't believe me? Check it out!

But... why would I post there?!? Well, let me tell you! I am the artist (if you can call it that...) of the comic poptarts (for Orphans). It is a collection of thoughts, conversations, and interesting scenarios that I have seen, or wanted to see, play out. Although it is still in the 'planning stages,' meaning all of the content is filler, and the html isn't unflawed yet, it will soon be a really cool and regular thing, I think. So check it out, the blog AND the webcomic (poptartsfororphans.com). I'll twitter whenever I update either one (my twitter is on the contact page of the PfO website... I usually only update Maggie Kay's... not pfo's...), so you guys don't have to check all the time! Bye! Tootles! And hope to see you on my other sites!

Poptart For Orphans

A friend, Nicole, and myself recently started a webcomic.
Poptarts for Orphans is about anything that happens to come into my mind throughout the day, and although we are starting to structure it, updates at irregular intervals. If you happen to be bored, I would check it out, but otherwise it is still being set up. The website doesn't have all of the pages completed yet, and the comics are going to improve (no worries). It is fun, though, to be able to publish my doodles to the world. So don't judge, but make sure to check it out sometime! :D
(oh, and I have a new signature!)

Movie Review #1 ~ Coraline

My grandmother and I went to the movies today (It was $6 Tuesday at the cinema, and she would never let a chance for cheap movie tickets pass her by!!!). We decided to see Coraline, an interesting movie about a little girl with blue hair. I thought it would e a fun movie that would occupy a little space in my brain for a half hour afterward, but instead I was surprised to watch an engaging film about the blurs between reality and fantasy, and the dangers of something that seems too perfect. I loved the movie, and I suggest anyone who wants to should see it! :)

New Comic Review!

Hey! I have been rummaging around the interweb and have found some partially interesting stuff! For one, some new comics will now be added to the link list. These include Nemu Nemu, Least I Could Do, and Aptitude Test.
Nemu Nemu: This adorably adorable comic is about two young girls and their magical pups. The two foil characters, Kana and Ani, find two small stuffed dogs, Nemu and Anpan. The story keeps an incredibly interesting plot that reminds me of when I was 10! The characters are amazing in their originality and their consistency!
Least I Could Do: Do not read this unless you are very perverse. This comic is all about Rayne, a perverted 24 year old, and his adventures with women. The art changes frequently, and it doesn't pick up a plot until a little while on, but if you like crude humor, you should definitely check this out.
Aptitude Test: Aptitude Test is an interesting comic about two polar opposite friends (I have been sensing a pattern, here) who go through life's normal troubles. Of course, what would a comic be without superheros, so while these girls face high school life, Julie (Co-Protagonist and Rina's best friend) must apprentice a super hero, which gets her into all sorts of trouble! I love this comic, and the art progressively improves, which makes me very happy!

Oh, and Happy Friday the 13th!!!!!

Birthday!

I need to start finding interesting things to talk about, otherwise I'll have to talk about my life *gasp*.
OK, well I guess that has to be the subject of interest today! Well, it is my birthday today, which is pretty cool. My family and I ('cept my dad... he 'couldn't' make it) had a fun dinner with banana cream pie, chocolate cream pie, and spinach lasagna! I got a Bose Radio from my mom, cool, right?!? I have already hooked it up to my computer so I can play my iTunes music!!! From Larry (my mom's boyfriend), I got a pig... inside of a pig... inside of a pig... (made of glass) I also got a PIRATE (pyrite) and tourmaline necklace, which I will wear sometime or another.
Now, this is the interesting part. Every year, my aunt brings 100 cupcakes to school. Although this may be fun in lower school, or maybe in middle school, by the time I am a sophomore, it seems a little odd. Amazingly, everybody still LOVES the cupcakes, so it was fine for me. To be honest, I'd rather get attention for the cupcakes than for my birthday... I know these random people don't care that I am sixteen, but I DO know they care about cupcakes! Hehe.
I probably won't be updating for a while because I am going to be very busy with school, but if anyone wants to tell me about their worst birthday memory, email me at magsimay@gmail.com, and I'll post my worst memory in the next blog!

New Comic Strip!!!

The comic is called Girls with Slingshots. Unlike most cartoons I have read, the art begins AND stay good. The plot it nice an continuous with no obnoxious come and go characters, but not to many either! I have added the link to the sidebar so anyone can visit the site if they want to :)

Scrambled Eggs

I have learned that scrambled eggs don't really work without the butter. It is like salt and pepper, peanut-butter and jelly, but you see, if you forget the salt, or the jelly, the other doesn't smoke and burn like an 18th century textile mill.
So I guess I learned my lesson!Next time I cook eggs, I'll use butter, and maybe this recipe site (check it out if you like cooking, it looks really neat!), and hopefully I will avoid this!

It is a Mini-Me!

I DO wish there was some way to put a dress on rather than pants... it would be MORE like me... but other than the clothes, it is pretty close! Like I said though, they do need to work on accessories and clothes options. Fun, though... rivals the south park mini-me thingy.

(Notice my superior technical terminology!)

Aye! So much stuff!

Ello, mateys!
I have quite a bit of things to mention today, so I'll number 'em!
1) I learned how to knit, pretty cool, right? Well, sortof. I am more or less addicted now. It is hard for me to tear myself away from knitting to even write on this! Which brings me to my second point!
2) I will try to update regularly, but I can't make any promises until I have atleast 5 followers. I know that sounds sorta sad... and I still do you love (to those who DO follow me), but it is a decision between this, doodling/drawing , and knitting. Otherwise I have to work a ton! Wouldn't it be cool, though, if I bought a scanner? That way I could update some of my drawings (more like doodles), and I could see what people think of them!
3) My friend, Nicole, and I have been in this "phase" recently where we talk in pirate dialect. This bit is just to explain the "Ello, mateys!" up at the top.
4) I want you guys to comment! Anyone who reads something I write and thinks, "wow, that is odd." Or "I WISH I THOUGHT OF THE HELLO KITTY TOASTER!" Just write it down, let me know some people are reading this!

(Oh, and about the knitting, if I can find myself a camera, I will post a picture of something I knit! [my camera is currently broken, which is why I haven't updated pics of anything I said I would :(])

Inauguration

As many of you know, today Barack Obama was sworn into the US Presidency. I have quite a bit of work to do, but I will give my general opinions on the matter fairly shortly.
1) I thought it was comical how he messed up on the oath**, but at the same time I am glad to see we elected someone who is able to make mistakes and still deliver a kick ass speech.
2) His speech was amazing. I thought it addressed the problems we are facing, Nationally and Worldwide, with solemnity, wisdom, and hope. He was sincere, confident, and simply an amazing public speaker.
3) I am glad to see someone who looks fairly reliable in office, but I can only hope Obama will live up to the expectations we have set for him.

(Did anyone else find it funny how he spoke about Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. and non-believers? I just laughed a little there.)
(Also, the google spell check still says Barack Obama is misspelled (first and last name). When will this be fixed, I wonder?)

**I discovered that it was not Obama who faulted on his oath, but John Roberts, the Chief Justice said it incorrectly.

:D

Today was AMAZING! I got a massage, listened to some new music, and got a TON of work done! I am actually just wondering what bands you guys like? What genres of music? If you care to respond, in the comment section below write your name, the genre of music you like, and some artists/songs! What I like should be in my profile, so check it out! :)

The Age of Suckage

Rawr. Today has utterly sucked! I have been looking for a scanner, and I found one. Good, right? No. The cord wouldn't connect to my computer, so either I will have to somehow get a ride to a store to buy a cord for an obsolete scanner, or I will have to buy a new one anywho. Then, the camcorder cord I have been looking for finally turns up, allowing me to put half-decent videos on youtube. Sadly the video camera will now display nothing but black! This all reminded me of a while back, when my father said something that made little since to me. While we were riding in the car to school, I asked him how he was. He responded by informing me,
"Maggie, daughter, we have unwittingly been swept into the age of suck-age. Although the concept may be far out of your reach, in a few years you will understand what I mean. The age of suck-age is a time when, although something may go right, it will eventually turn for the worst no matter what. Every action, no matter how great, will bear a miserable consequence."

...I finally understand what he means.

Exams Are Over!!!

Woot! Exams are over! (Well, I do have to take a test on the train tomorrow, but its not an exam, so its ok... :\) Today is actually FULL of good things. My dog and get are getting to know each other in a very odd way, I got some good grades (some bad ones, too), and I am going to miss school tomorrow to go to the aquarium! I'll upload some pictures later! :)

Hello, Kitty!

Has the gun got your attention? Well here is an explanation! ... sorta... I don't have an explanation for why they would make that...

When I was in the shower (so not TMI), I realized I want EVERYTHING to be cute for my apartment (... when I get one). And what better way to start than with these?!? Check out this site, and if your mind isn't about to explode of cuteness by the time you reached the end, you have slight problems.

Personally, I like the toaster more than the gun... I actually sortof want it...

Sewing, Snowdays, and More!!!

Actually, I have a lot more to talk about than sewing and snowdays :).

For anyone who didn't know, I received a sewing machine for Christmas! I don't really know how to sew that well, although I took several classes. For my first project, I decided to make a stuffed animal for a friend (I will upload a picture when I'm done.) Instead of using fabric from, say, a fabric store, I decided to buy a shirt and dissect it! (Yay! ... or so I thought before I learned how time consuming seam rippers are!!!). I am sortof excited to see how my first project might turn out, so wish me luck!
The only reason I have time to sew is because I think there is a snowday tomorrow. One thing I love about snowdays is how you never know they are coming until that morning, but, that can also be a big problem. See, I will procrastinate until the last moment with most things, so if I think I won't have school the next day, I most likely will not do the work. That means, if we DO have school, I am in major trouble... heh. Another thing I love about snowdays, though, is the snow itself. If any of you like snowflakes, I found this really cool site where you can make your own snowflake! It is pretty fun.
Ok, one more really quick thing: I got Jack back!

KY and Other Odd Things

I think it is like, 2 in the morning, and I cannot really sleep. I have school tomorrow, and of course I finished everything non-school related. As I was laying in bed, I got REALLY bored, but not enough to do something productive, hehe, so I ended up looking through the Walgreens inventory. Upon exploration, I stumbled along something called KY Yours And Mine, which is basically a dual lubricant which produces a strange reaction when the one for the guy and the one for the girl combine. I'm not sure if this is just me, but wouldn't it seem too odd to a "reaction" down there? All I could imagine was pop rocks, which did not seem pleasant. This may seem sortof odd to anyone who is reading this, but like I said, it is 2 o'clock in the morning, and I am tired.

Dog News & Another Funny Comic :)

So I managed yo budge my mom slightly with the dog when we went to visit him at the shelter, yay! I am trying to find a home on our street, but we still will pay his bills, train him, walk him, etc. We are even offering to let him stay here until he finishes his training! Yay!!! I went up to this person's home (whom we think might take him), but he was busy will company, so I ran away... yes... I ran :[ . Tomorrow I am going to go up again and home I have guts to ask him to take the dog, hehe.
In other news, I was catching up some more on Diesel Sweeties, and I found this, which I thought was funny. Maybe you need to read the comic and get into the characters a bit before you start to laugh at the jokes, so I suggest you check out some of the comics listed below and to the right!

Emo Thought of the Day!

Thought: Baking is cool because you can hide all your pain in the sugar.
Background: Whenever I am really sad, I make some sort of goodie. This can consist of cookies or pie or brownies, etc. Somehow, all my sadness goes away! I was trying to figure out why, and the only thing I could think of was that the pain is like an ingredient. And when I add it to the food, I take it away from me! Yay?

Poor Jack!

Hello. Yesterday night (at about 11), I posted a video on youtube talking about how my dog went missing. Well, it turns out the police brought him to the shelter (yay!). It also turns out he was picked up on our street... 10 minutes after he got out... because of a call...
Turns out, this neighbor who dislikes us (and whom we rather dislike) called the police on our dog, even though she know who it belongs to! Now my mother is talking about NOT going to get the dog because it is so much of a hassle! *sigh* I am a little upset about all of this, so if any of you have a suggestion for how to convince my mom to bring the dog home, or how to confront my neighbor, that would be great! Thank you!

Jack
